Barmer Lignite Mining Company Limited (BLMCL)
JSW Energy’s Barmer plant sources lignite from Barmer Lignite Mining Company. The mining company is a 49:51 joint venture between Raj WestPower Ltd (a subsidiary of JSW Energy) and the state-owned Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals Ltd.
Incorporated in January 2007, BLMCL has the rights to develop lignite mines in two contiguous blocks – Kapurdi and Jalipa – in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan located 20 km from Barmer town. The Kapurdi mine is presently supplying lignite to meet the requirement of Barmer power plant while the Jalipa block, currently under development, has a mining plan approval for 6MTPA.
South African Coal Mining Holdings (SACMH)
JSW Energy has majority holding in South African Coal Mining Holdings Limited (SACMH), a Company listed in Johannesburg Stock Exchange and has coal mines in South Africa. Apart from Coal mines, the Company has other infrastructural assets, viz. allocation in Richard’s Bay Coal (RBCT), Wash Plant, and Railway Sidings etc.
