Planting the Seeds for a Better Tomorrow

INTERNATIONAL MANGROVES DAY
CELEBRATION AT DOLVI

A JSW & Mangrove Cell Initiative

At JSW, we believe mangroves are an important part of our ecosystem and therefore deserve to be well-maintained and cared for. Therefore, on International Mangroves Day (26th July), we organised an event in partnership with the Mangrove Cell, Ministry of Forests, Government of Maharashtra.

The event focused on the conservation of these rare and spectacular ecosystems, which provide us with both food and safety. Eminent personalities and senior scientists were invited to speak on the subject at the event that encouraged people to be more proactive and take a positive step towards a green future.

Together, We Can Make A Difference

On 26th July, 2018, the CSR department of JSW Steel Dolvi Works celebrated International Mangrove Day. The event was organised by JSW and Mangrove Cell, Ministry of Forests, Government of Maharashtra.

Over 300 women from 28 conservation-focused self-help joined the celebration. Dr. Roy Choudhary and Dr. Debnath from NEWS (Nature Environment and Wildlife Society), our partner organisation, graced the event as our chief guests.

The celebration also showcased films on the subject and encouraged participants to pledge on working towards the betterment of the mangrove cause.

So far, the entire team at JSW Steel and its counterparts have successfully planted over 300,000 mangrove saplings, thus taking a big step towards a better and safer ecosystem for you, and for us.
