JSW Cement Limited, the new diversification foray of JSW Group, was incorporated on March 29, 2006. The Company had earlier set up grinding facility of approx 0.70 mtpa at Vijayanagar, in the state of Karnataka, for production of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) and Portland Slag Cement (PSC), which commenced commercial operations in March 2009.

Under second phase of expansion, the Company is setting up approx 4.50 mtpa green field cement plant comprising of clinkerisation and cement grinding & blending facilities at Nandyal in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Post completion of the above expansion project, the Company will be having approx 5.20 mtpa capacity for producing Portland Slag Cement (PSC). The above green field project is envisaged to commence operation by December 2011.

The Company is looking out for acquiring mineral resources/ores across various regions in India geographical segments for expanding its footprint and having pan India presence.
