Hope and innovation took centerstage at the 13th Earth Care Awards

The 13th edition of the JSW-TOI Earth Care Awards celebrated individuals and organisations driving impactful climate-forward solutions across India. Held at the Tata Theatre, NCPA, the event recognised pioneering efforts in sustainability, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, waste management, and climate resilience.
The ceremony highlighted how grassroots innovation, collaboration, and community-led action are shaping climate solutions across the country. From restoring Himalayan water sources and protecting tribal forest rights to reducing industrial waste and creating pollinator highways, this year’s winners showcased practical and scalable environmental action.
Ashwini Bhide, Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in her keynote address, stressed the importance of collective climate action, stating that climate responsibility lies not only with governments but also with citizens, institutions, NGOs, and organisations working together toward meaningful change.

The awards, instituted by JSW Group and The Times of India in 2008, honour outstanding initiatives in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The Youth Climate Champion programme, launched last year, also received over 750 submissions.

Mrs. Sangita Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation, in her address said, “Our mission with these awards is simple: find the people who are actually doing something: innovators, grassroots leaders, institutions that have put climate at the centre of what they do.”
