JSW has made one of the biggest Cement Plant of West Bengal at SALBONI spread across a sprawling area of around 134 acres. The plant is strategically located near the National Highway (NH-60) and around 160 kms from Kolkata. With an investment of around 800 crore , the plant is equipped with the most modern grinding technology. The plant is committed to the environment with highly advanced pollution control equipment thereby contributing to produce cement with minimal impact on environment.
Product Portfolio and Capacity
The plant is of 2.4 MTPA capacity with four finish grinding lines of Roller Presses. Superior quality of PSC would be produced from the plant which will have high strength and durability to the liking of the customers. The plant would also be later on rolling out its premium brand "Concreel" PSC cement from this unit of Salboni.
Technology and Equipments
Cement Grinding System
Cement Mill capacity : 2.4 MTPA Clinker/Slag grinding 4RP x90 tph
The 2.4 MTPA plant is basically split in to two units of 2 X 1.2 MTPA having two separate KHD make roller press of 90tph in each unit. The plant is so designed that one unit would be dedicated for slag and other for clinker grinding. From both the units finish product of GGBS and OPC of the required fineness would be attained. A provision has been made in the system to store OPC and ground slag in separate silos of capacity 5000 t each. OPC and ground slag shall subsequently be mixed in required ratio using a paddle mixer to produce PSC and transported to the PSC storage silo of 5000 tons capacity.
KHD Humboldt Wedag Roller Presses is of hard alloy studded design to offer high wear protection for sustained productivity of the product.
Roller Press will grind Slag & Clinker separately & the grinded product would be passed through latest generation Static & Dynamic Separators to the product Bag house.
Fuel (Coal) Storage and Firing
Both the units are provided with HAG to meet the heat requirement during slag and clinker grinding. One more dedicated HAG is provided for driving out the moisture from coal during coal grinding. 100% Local Coal/ Imported Coal has been considered as a primary fuel backed with diesel firing. The fine coal requirement would be met by a Coal VRM of 12 tph capacity.
This is being built with state of art technology with provision of Tipplers for unloading of raw materials and mechanical loading of cement bags for the finished product.
Packer & Loading System
The plant has 16 spout 3 Roto Packer of Beumer make of 240 tph capacity . Each packer is connected to one auto truck loader and two semi automatic truck loading system. In all there are 9 truck loading bays to handle the truck loading system. In addition to this there is a wagon loading platform of 700 meters length for single placement of rake equipped with 12 wagon loaders. The wagon loading will be operated on EOL design.
The quality control department at the proposed plant is fully equipped with the latest technology and equipment to deliver accurate analysis report. The objective of building a latest lab is to ascertain that the quality of product exceeds the customer expectations and fulfils the BIS norms.
