Started in 2003, Vijayanagar works comprises of two manufacturing units within the JSW Group’s sprawling 150-acre campus. Located next to the JSW Steel complex, the two units receive an abundant supply of slag from the steel mill. A significant quantity of cement produced at Vijayanagar works is consumed in the continuous expansive construction work within the JSW complex. The rest is marketed to the southern states of India.
Product Portfolio and Capacity
It produces both Portland Slag Cement (PSC) and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) cement for the company. Its cement production capacity is 6,00,000 tons.
- Highly efficient units that can produce more than the installed capacity
- A green facility, with nearly a fifth of the campus covered by trees and plants
Technology and Equipments
It has a well-equipped laboratory with state-of-the-art testing facilities including XRF and particle size analyzer. All these enable it to stay ahead of the curve.
Vertical Roller Mill
Its German technology Vertical Roller Mill supplied by LOESCHE with a capacity of 90 tph is the most efficient mill used for producing PSC and GGBS. Hence, energy consumption is lower than any other assuring best quality output.
Maintaining a dust free environment and achieving high yield is the basic ideal of the cement production process. The plant has the best de-dusting and product recovery baghouse supplied by THERMAX, making it possible to eliminate dust along with achieving a high product yield.
It is equipped with bulk loading systems and one Roto Packer that has installed capacity of 120 tph. The plant is armed with modern technology packers. Therefore, bags are filled with zero error and leak proof filling. The packing section has nuisance bag filters which provide a safe work zone and dust free environment in and around the plant.
