Addressing Social Inequality

JSW Foundation is facilitating programs to bring women into the socioeconomic mainstream of the nation. Our efforts in this direction are manifested through

  • Women Empowerment initiatives that bring women together to form self-help groups and train them in financial management and entrepreneurship development. Efforts are also made to link existing groups to business opportunities.
  • Women led enterprises include textile and textile related crafts, food production, food processing and canning, manufacturing products from agricultural produce. The foundation has also established rural BPOs catering to customers across India and the US.
  • The foundation is also supporting the Dongri Children Observation Home in Mumbai, in an attempt to make it more hospitable for its residents. The foundation has undertaken not just infrastructure upgradation but also provision of vital manpower in the form of probation officer, counsellors, and an overall manager
  • The foundation is providing support for rehabilitation of elderly suffering from neurological issues. The program includes detection, awareness and rehabilitation of the elderly through treatment and therapies.
