Extreme weather and severe climate changes have brought home what environmentalists have warned us for more than 15 years. Over the last decade, the burning of fossil fuels and other human activities have increased the concentration of CO₂ and greenhouse gases. This has affected our communities, our health, and our climate negatively.

With Earth Care Awards, JSW along with Times of India group aims to highlight locally evolved climate friendly practices. It recognises the actions and innovations for climate change mitigation and adaptation by communities, entrepreneurs, large-scale industries, women-led enterprises and urban bodies and awards businesses with intent and plans to reduce carbon intensity in their operation.
