An accomplished Business Leader and a second-generation entrepreneur, Mr. Sajjan Jindal had the foresight to lead the Steel industry and JSW in particular on a transformational journey, contributing significantly to India’s growth philosophy. With a visionary approach, he has transformed the Steel industry and the JSW Group, expanding the business landscape across Infrastructure, Sports, Cement, and Paints.
A mechanical engineer, Mr. Jindal has led the JSW Group through some of its most exciting phases, including the public offer announcements of JSW Steel and JSW Energy in 1995 and 2009-10, respectively. Today, the USD 23 Billion Group takes pride in its outstanding growth and success.
Mr. Jindal is a firm believer in the “Make in India” philosophy and has received several global awards for his commendable work. He was awarded the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” in Feb 2023, and in the past, he received the “CEO of the Year 2019” Award by Business Standard (India’s leading business publication) and the “Best CEO Award 2019” by Business Today Magazine. He has also been recognized as the “Outstanding Business Leader of the year 2018” by IBLA - CNBC TV18 (India’s leading business news channel). Furthermore, he was awarded the JRD Tata Award 2017 for “Excellence in Corporate Leadership in Metallurgical industry,” and the “2014 National Metallurgist Award: Industry” instituted by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
Apart from his business endeavors, Mr. Jindal is keen on giving back to society and improving the lives of individuals. He founded the JSW Foundation, which is committed to providing opportunities to bridge the socio-economic divide and create equitable and sustainable communities. The Foundation has touched the lives of over 1 million people, providing them with the means to empower themselves and build a brighter and sustainable future.
Mr. Jindal is globally recognized for his impact on the steel industry and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the World Steel Association, one of the largest and most dynamic industry associations in the world. He is also the Vice President & Chairman, Ferrous Division of the Indian Institute of Metals, and was the past President of Indian Steel Association (ISA) and former President of the Institute of Steel Development & Growth (INSDAG). Additionally, he was the past Chairman of the World Steel Association, and the first representative from an Indian company to serve in this role.
Parth Jindal earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2016 and his Bachelor in Arts in Economics and Political Science from Brown University in 2012.
Parth Jindal joined the $23 Bn JSW Group in 2012, prior to which he spent 2 years working abroad, starting with a hedge fund in New York before spending considerable time in Japan working for JFE Steel (JV Partners of JSW Steel).
Today, Parth Jindal is the Managing Director of JSW Cement (currently a $600 Mn organisation with 17 MTPA capacity and is being steered towards 25 MTPA capacity by 2024), Managing Director of JSW Paints (launched in May 2019), Director of JSW Energy, Founder of JSW Sports that owns and manages ISL 2018-19 Champions Bengaluru FC, Pro-Kabaddi League team Haryana Steelers and is Chairman and Co-Owner of Delhi Capitals. Parth Jindal is also the Founder of Inspire Institute of Sport (a visionary project to elevate India’s Olympic caliber), Director of JSW Ventures and Director of JSW USA. Under his stewardship, JSW Sports was honored with the “Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar 2018”, by the President of India, for Encouragement to Sports through Corporate Social Responsibility. He is the youngest Business Leader on the ‘2019 Economic Times 40 under Forty’ list, ‘GQ’s 50 Most InfluentialYoung Indians for 2018’ and felicitated by News24 as 2018 Youth Icon for his contribution to the Nation. As Director Bengaluru FC, Parth was elected unopposed as Vice President of the Western India Football Association.
At the Group level, Parth continues to lead and provide direction to the Human Resources, Information Technology and digital functions.
Mr Rao is the Chief Financial Officer of JSW Group. Having joined JSW Group in 1997, he has played a strong role in the growth strategies of the company.
Mr Rao is responsible for the overall operations of the Group, including strategic formulations related to business development, expansion of existing businesses, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and cost management.
Mr Rao is a man of considerable experience in industrial finance. Prior to joining the company, he worked with several reputed organisations in varied capacities. He possesses a strong foundation in the finance sector with three decades of experience in the areas of corporate finance and banking.
One of the senior leaders of JSW Steel, Mr Acharya has a multi-faceted background. He is a chemical engineer with a Masters in Physics from BITS, Pilani (1986) and an MBA in Marketing from Indore University.
Mr Acharya is a veteran in the steel industry with 24 years of experience that spans the entire range of flat and long steel products. Over the years, he has acquired wide-ranging experience of the steel business, having worked in various capacities and locations in India. His extensive experience includes start-up operations, development and execution of strategies for leveraging new markets and customers, creation of strong brand equity for the company in the domestic and international markets and introduction of innovative marketing concepts.
Mr. Arun Maheshwari is associated with JSW Steel since November 1995 and has handled multiple roles and responsibilities at the JSW Group. Mr. Maheshwari has been responsible for sourcing major steel and power generating raw materials, Corporate Strategy, International marketing - steering each of these areas with his entrepreneurial skills, creative approach and lateral thinking. He holds an MBA degree (Marketing & Finance). Mr. Maheshwari holds directorship in JSW Utkal Steel Limited, Hasaud Steel Limited.
Tarini Jindal Handa is the Managing Director of JSW Realty, the real estate arm of the JSW group. Her passion for design and quest for sustainability was the driving force behind the creation of this company. Having been trained in the fields of fashion and marketing she brings a fresh and innovative approach to the function and form of architecture within an Indian context. Her ability to work with both homegrown and foreign design talent will bring an exciting change to the Mumbai skyline.
Tarini is also the Founder and Managing Director of JSW Living. This venture takes a cue from the parent company, JSW Group, and creates affordable steel furniture that caters to aspirational India. Brand Forma, under JSW Living, is not only an example of bringing design to a larger audience but it also promotes sustainability as it aims to replace plastic options.
Tarini is on the board of Victoria Mills, a museum for children and a creative hub that will be open to the public at large. She is also collaborating with the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to create free-use public toilets. The pilot facility, the Marine Drive Toilet is a product of design and innovation through the employment of resource-saving technology and has won the Swachh Bharat award.
Tarini is a member of the EO and the YPO and serves on the Boards of JSW Infrastructure, JSW Realty and JSW Living amongst others.
Mrs. Sangita Jindal is the Chairperson of the JSW Foundation that is responsible for social development projects of the JSW Group. In the twenty years that she has spearheaded operations, the Foundation has enlarged its scope of activities in the areas of education, health, livelihood creation, local sports development and conservation of our arts and cultural heritage. The Golden Peacock Award for CSR awarded to the JSW Foundation in 2009 and again in 2019 is testimony to her vision and leadership.
Her other significant passion is in the promotion of art and culture. She established the Jindal Arts Centre (JAC) in 1992 and started Art India, an art magazine in 1994. She was among the team that conceptualized the Kala Ghoda festival and for these efforts she was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship in 2004. She has created, the Hampi Foundation that has undertaken conservation work at three temples in Hampi and the friends of school premises that has improved the Sir JJ School of Art.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of Asia Society India Centre and National Culture Fund, Trustee on the Board of the World Monument Fund, Advisor to Ted X Gateway and a member of the IMC Ladies’ Wing Art, Culture and Film Committee. She is a recipient of the Marico Ricci-Metro Society Young Achievers Award in 2004, the Best Citizen Award conferred by the I Love Mumbai committee in 2002 and the FICCI Ladies Organization Woman Philanthropist Award in 2011.
Mrs Jindal, has also committed her support to women’s empowerment by becoming the Chair of the Women’s Empowerment Principals Initiative in India.
Tanvi Jindal Shete is the Founder of the Museum of Solutions and Director of JSW Foundation, where she oversees the education portfolio.
In her role as Director of JSW Foundation, Tanvi oversees the functioning of the 7 Jindal Vidya Mandir schools across India, that serve students between K-12 based at JSW Steel plant locations. As the education supervisor, Tanvi ensures the development of a culture of Best Practices across the board and collaborates with Principals at all schools to implement new tools of instruction to ensure the holistic learning of all students.
Tanvi’s foray into the field of education began in the year 2009, as a member of the first cohort of the Teach for India fellowship program, where she was a volunteer-teacher at Sadhana, a low-income school in the Lalubhai Compound, Mankhurd, Mumbai. The following academic year, Tanvi was the Early Childhood curriculum coordinator at Akanksha, India’s largest urban network of low-income schools built on the Public-Private Partnership Model. Her years as a grassroots level educator inspired her to build
the Museum of Solutions, a space that provides a holistic approach to education, empowering students from K-6 to make meaningful changes in their world, gaining empathy and enabling them to express themselves better. The Museum of Solutions intends to be a space for children to apply their learning to real-life situations, to foster creativity, think critically, communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
Tanvi is a Graduate of Economics from New York University and alumni of Cathedral & John Connon in Mumbai.
