The 17-km freeway that connects South Mumbai to eastern suburbs has been helping Mumbai by decongesting traffic and reducing pollution.
Two out of three segments of the Eastern Freeway, comprise of India’s second largest elevated road and the first-ever urban tunnel, shortening a 45-minute commute to just 20 minutes. The elevated portion of the Eastern Freeway is fortified with steel crash barriers and seismic arresters that can tolerate an earthquake of up to 7.5 on the Richter Scale. The Mumbai Eastern Freeway is yet another symbol of JSW Steel’s commitment towards building a strong nation.
The 9.29km stretch from Orange Gate to Mahul creek is the longest flyover in Mumbai and third longest in India.
