
At the 26th edition of the ET Awards for Corporate Excellence held in Mumbai on April 25, 2026, JSW Group Chairman Mr. Sajjan Jindal was honoured with the Business Leader of the Year award, recognising his leadership in steering the JSW Group through transformative growth across steel, energy and new ventures.
The honour celebrates a leadership journey defined by bold expansion balanced with financial discipline. Under Mr. Jindal’s stewardship, JSW has scaled across industries with clarity of vision, resilience through changing market cycles, and a long-term commitment to value creation—qualities that earned him one of corporate India’s most prestigious recognitions.
While accepting the award, at the hands of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Jindal said, “Every furnace we have lit, every ton of steel we have poured, every megawatt we have added to this country's grid, it has always it has never felt like business to me. It has always felt like participation in India's story.”
He dedicated the award to all the workmen at JSW who toil all day to help realise the Group’s vision, the top management at JSW, his three brothers who have been with him through his thick and thin, the shareholders and partners and all employees of JSW who are united by the single dream to build something worthy of this country.

Chosen by a distinguished jury of business leaders and policymakers, the awards have long recognised those shaping India’s economic story.
This year’s ceremony brought together leading voices from business and government, with Nirmala Sitharaman attending as chief guest. In her seventh year as Finance Minister, Sitharaman’s presence underscored the evening’s emphasis on reform and economic progress. Also honoured was N. Chandrababu Naidu, recipient of the Business Reformer of the Year Award.
Held against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty and global economic protectionism, the evening also featured a high-level discussion on Navigating West Asia Crisis: India’s Economic Strategy, reinforcing the event’s focus on the challenges and opportunities shaping India’s future.
The ceremony celebrated a broad spectrum of corporate excellence, with companies including HDFC Life, Bharti Airtel, Groww, YouTube, Asian Paints and RateGain Travel Technologies among those feted. Lifetime Achievement honours were presented to Cyrus Poonawalla and K. P. Singh.
