Inspire Institute of Sport
The Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) is India’s first privately-funded High Performance Training Centre that trains talented young athletes across five Olympic disciplines - wrestling, boxing, judo, athletics and swimming. Spread over 42 acres in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, IIS is a unique initiative led by the JSW Group. It brings together 23 corporate donors who are collectively funding the operations of the institute through CSR funding.
IIS aims to be the destination of choice for all Indian athletes who dream of success at the Olympics. Through the focus on international standards of infrastructure, coaching and sports science, IIS is confident of nurturing the Olympic champions of India.

At IIS, our focus is on the holistic development of athletes, who are leaders on and off the field of play. All the coaches and staff are committed to help our athletes develop as individuals capable of making their decisions and growing as personalities during their time at IIS. Our 360-degree approach goes much beyond coaching with each individual athlete getting access to world-class infrastructure, sports science support and education and skill-development.
The Talent Identification Process
Our Scholarship athletes are selected through a comprehensive Pan-India merit based scouting program conducted by our scouts and coaches. Keeping in mind India’s unique diversity which ensures a wide pool of available talent, our specialist staff follows a streamlined process to make sure every athlete is screened and assessed for true sporting potential:
