We're happy to share that JSW Steel has been honoured with the Prestigious Steelie Awards 2021, by World Steel Association. Our ' Using LCA to evaluate the environmental performance of new product development and promotion' project won in the category of Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment category.

The Steelie Awards recognise member companies for their contribution to the steel industry over a one-year period in a series of categories impacting the industry.

The project that won the award was development of a new product i.e Fe 550D grade TMT rebar having lower environmental footprint in production and usage based on LCA. The product received the Type 1 Ecolabeling known as "GreenPro Certification" in India. JSW was also part of the development of the national standard for GreenPro certification using LCA for TMT bars. The new product was demonstrated to have 2% reduction in CO2 emission and 5% reduction in water consumption during the production phase.
