Planting a Better Tomorrow

For a healthier present and future

Development of Miyawaki forest & Bio-diversity park at Tarapur:

JSW Foundation has undertaken this project on a 2-acre plot given by MIDC Tarapur, which was being used as a dumping yard. We have planted 8350 indigenous trees species on 2400 sq meters and on the rest of the plot, there will be a walking path, amphitheater, children’s play area, herbal garden, yoga, and meditation space, etc. This green lung of Tarapur will be developed as a Bio-diversity park, which will take two years for completion.

On 28th of January 2021 inauguration of Miyawaki plantation was attended by the Tarapur JSW team along with Mr Amarjitsingh Dahiya, Mr Rajesh Khera. Mrs Lata Nowal and Mrs Harsha Khera also graced the occasion along with the JSW ladies club members. Everyone present planted a sapling. Dr R K Nair of ‘Forest Creators’ the implementing agency briefed the dignitaries present about the nuances of MIYAWAKI FOREST and its benefits.
