AT A GLANCE
The JSW Foundation has been helping the women to become self-aware of their true potential by bequeathing them with the clout to make decisions for their own good so they find their rightful place in the society and at the same time, contribute to the GDP fueling the economic growth of the nation.
Christened as JSW Shakti, four BPO centers have been setup in rural Karnataka and Maharashtra through this initiative with an aim to use IT-enabled services to provide localised employment to rural women above 18 years of age.
WHY SHAKTI ?
JSW Shakti was born out of a need to emancipate women in opportunity deficit areas, create sustainable livelihood using technology and bring in dignity to their lives. Started as a women empowerment project now JSW Shakti is seen as a business and social enterprise model.
Recognised and appreciated by NASSCOM, GSC (global sourcing council) New York and many industry bodies nationally. Bringing women into the economic inclusion and nation-building process-one BPO at a time!
