Promoting Social Development

The Foundation believes that access to quality education right from the inception is of extreme importance. Our aim is to facilitate this process through

  • Early Childhood Education Program, where we work directly with the anganwadis to enhance the learning ambience for the children. The focus is not only on improving the infrastructure but also on training the Anganwadi Workers to deliver better curriculum through training and design inputs.
  • Formal Education through schools: As part of this initiative JSW not only has its own schools in 7 locations, it also supports other rural schools in its area of operation. Emphasis is on providing new technology, infrastructure support and teachers. There is also an emphasis to encourage girls to continue education through scholarships for meritorious performance. The emphasis is also on optimizing digital content in rural schools to aid the learning processes. Rural libraries and science labs are also being introduced to make learning more meaningful
  • Skill Building Programs through 3 Vocational centres and supporting 19 ITIs through public private partnerships. The foundation has also initiated 3 ISO certified rural BPOs. As part of our skilling program, we have also introduced digitalization into the rural schools that we work with. Special focus is laid on enrolling women and they are encouraged to train in traits that are male dominated.
  • Special Education: The foundation established Tamanna- A School for the specially abled in Ballari which currently caters to the needs of the intellectually challenged children from nearby villages. As a philosophy, the foundation supports other organizations working on this cause.
