JSW Sports is the sports arm of the JSW Group, a $13 billion conglomerate with a presence across India, USA, South America, Europe & Africa. Established in 2012, the company aims to play a leading role in creating a sporting culture in India by maximising the potential of Indian sports and athletes.
The company is uniquely positioned across the Indian sports ecosystem and has a presence in the top 3 sports leagues of India through its teams Bengaluru FC (ISL), Delhi Capitals (IPL) and Haryana Steelers (PKL). Besides, JSW Sports has led the creation of India’s first high-performance training centre- the Inspire Institute of Sport and is exclusively supporting and managing some of India’s most promising Olympic talents including Neeraj Chopra, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vikas Krishan Yadav.
The Sports Excellence Programme (SEP) is the flagship endeavour of JSW Sports, which currently supports 49 athletes across four disciplines. The SEP provides financial support to these athletes, while also providing opportunities to train under world-class coaches at Olympic training facilities. The programme covers expenses for travel, accommodation, nutrition and sporting equipment, along with access to dedicated physiotherapists. The SEP athletes also have regular access to the state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities at the Inspire Institute of Sport in Bellary, so they can continue to train when they’re away from their national camps.
The Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) is India’s first privately-funded High Performance Training Centre that trains talented young athletes across five disciplines - wrestling, boxing, judo, athletics and swimming. Spread over 42 acres in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, IIS is a unique initiative led by the JSW Group. It brings together 23 corporate donors who are collectively funding the operations of the institute through CSR funding.
