“At JSW Steel, we recognise that, as an industry leader, our actions play a pivotal role in promoting the uptake of more sustainable practices across the sector and in accelerating progress toward a more socially and environmentally responsible steel industry. Accordingly, we remain committed to establishing sustainability as a strategic, enterprise-wide priority and to enhancing our performance across key sustainability issues such as climate change, nature and social sustainability. Receiving an industry leading CSA score of 88 reflects the tangible progress we are making in this regard.”
The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) evaluates the sustainability performance and practices of over 12,000 of the world's leading companies across major sectors annually. The results derived through the CSA inform the construction of some of the most prestigious ESG indices, including but not limited to the DJSI and the S&P 500 ESG Index. By assessing and quantifying companies' performance across a set of industry-specific and financially material environmental, social, and governance issues, the CSA seeks to equip sustainability-conscious investors with the datadriven insights needed to make more responsible investment decisions and to help direct capital toward companies that are spearheading the transition toward a more sustainable global economy.
As climate change's impacts transpire globally and other socio-environmental challenges intensify, stakeholders are increasingly expecting companies to demonstrate robust ESG performance and provide transparent sustainability disclosures. Against this backdrop, JSW Steel's industry-leading performance in the CSA underscores how the Company has effectively responded to such rapidly evolving stakeholder expectations and how it continues to contribute to the emergence of a more sustainable, responsible, resilient, and future-proof global steel sector.
We extend our gratitude to all the stakeholders whose efforts led to this achievement. Together, we will continue fostering sustainable value creation in line with our mission to be #BetterEveryday.
