The Kutehr Hydro Project
The Kutehr Hydro Project is a largest greenfield Hydro Project by JSW Energy, aimed at harnessing hydroelectric power in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. With a total capacity of 240 MW, divided into three units of 80 MW each, the project is progressing well and nearing commissioning.
A power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed with Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) for the supply of 240 MW of hydro power at a levelized ceiling tariff of Rs 4.50/kWh, valid for 35 years with the possibility of extension. The power generated will be used to meet the Hydro Power Purchase Obligation (HPPO) of Haryana's state DISCOM utilities, namely Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN).
This project is part of JSW Energy's broader strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio and becoming net zero by 2050.
