Delhi Capitals finish top of the IPL 2021 table

Dubai: Delhi Capitals have finished on top of the table in the 2020-21 edition of the Indian Premier League season. Delhi has 20 points in the bag, after 14 games, and is joined by Chennai Super Kings (18), Royal Challengers Bangalore (18), and Kolkata Knight Riders (14) in the top four.

The Capitals sealed their playoff spot following their win against Mumbai Indians last week, making their defeat to Bangalore in the final game of the league phase irrelevant.

For Delhi, the batters and bowlers have led from both fronts this season. Shikhar Dhawan (544 runs) and Prithvi Shaw (401 runs) are in the top ten scorers of this IPL, and while Dhawan (61) has recorded the most boundaries,  Shimron Hetmyer (170.90) has the best batting strike rate. With the ball, Avesh Khan (22 wickets) has taken the second-most wickets in this edition while Ishant Sharma (2) has registered the most maidens.

The Capitals are back in action on October 10, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, when they take on Chennai in the first playoff. The match can be view live on the Star Sports network, Disney+ Hotstar app and Jio TV.
